Prevention is Better than a Cure

A study at the University of Melbourne has shown that children under the age of 2 should see a dentist regularly

The study showed that while visits to other healthcare professionals was high, children seeing dentists before the age of 2 was very rare despite dental decay being among the most common chronic diseases of early childhood.

The benefits of early prevention are:

    • MOUTH CANCER

Oral cancer checks are highly important as patients experience a much greater survival rate if this disease is treated in its early stages.

    • PREVENTION OF GUM DISEASES

Gum diseases (such as periodontitis and gingivitis) and other tooth problems can be prevented through further education about the importance of brushing and flossing.

    • PREVENTION OF DENTAL EMERGENCIES

Regular visits to a dentist can aid in reducing the chances of broken teeth, broken jaw bone, tooth aches and other assorted teeth problems. The early warning signs of which, with regular visits to a dentist, could be identified.

At Redbank Plains Dental we believe prevention is better than a cure, and as such we are focused on early prevention so you can maintain healthy teeth. During your child’s first visit our dentists perform a comprehensive check-up to ensure your child’s optimal dental health.
